Individualized
The program should fit the athlete—not force the athlete into a generic system.
Book assessmentAbout COR1
COR1 was built to give athletes one place to get healthy, get faster, and prepare for what their sport demands next.

Coach · Clinician · Advocate
COR1 is led by Dr. Matthew Oliver, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and performance coach specializing in speed, strength, power development, rehabilitation, and return to sport.
Matthew earned his degree in Sports Medicine from Pepperdine University, where he had the opportunity to work with high-level NCAA Division I athletes and learn inside a demanding collegiate sports environment.
Across more than a decade of working with athletes from youth to the professional level, Matthew saw a recurring gap: rehabilitation often stopped before athletes were prepared for competition, while performance training often ignored injury history, movement quality, and individual development.
COR1 brings both worlds together. Athletes can begin with their initial injury or post-operative evaluation and remain with the same provider through foundational rehabilitation, strength, running, sport-specific preparation, and full return to competition.
Why COR1 exists
An athlete should not have to change providers as rehabilitation becomes more athletic. COR1 can begin with pain management, swelling, mobility, and early post-operative milestones, then progress into strength, power, running, cutting, practice, and competition.
That continuity means the provider who evaluates the athlete at the beginning also understands their history, monitors their progress, and prepares them for the speed and unpredictability of sport at the end.
What guides the work
The program should fit the athlete—not force the athlete into a generic system.
Testing and measurable progress create clarity for athletes, parents, and coaches.
Training should improve the physical qualities and movement skills that matter in competition.
Long-term development means building capacity, confidence, and resilience together.
The coaching philosophy
Great programming matters, but the athlete still needs to understand intent, receive useful feedback, and develop ownership of the process.
Technical control and useful positions create the foundation for speed, load, volume, and complexity.
A score is interpreted alongside training history, movement strategy, sport demands, and athlete confidence.
Programs adapt to seasons, growth, school demands, recovery, injury history, and the athlete’s response.
Preparation, progressive exposure, clear feedback, and earned success help athletes trust their abilities.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. COR1 provides early-stage physical therapy as well as advanced return-to-sport training. An athlete can begin with the initial evaluation or post-operative phase and remain with the same provider throughout the entire recovery process.
No. COR1 works across the development continuum—from healthy athletes building speed, strength, and power to athletes progressing through rehabilitation and return to sport.
Programming is built around sport demands, objective assessment, individual coaching, and Matthew’s combined perspective as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and performance coach.
When appropriate and authorized, COR1 can communicate relevant findings and progressions so the athlete receives a more connected plan.
